Above Burgusio at 1,340 m is situated the Monastery Marienberg. Surrounded by powerful, ancient walls it has always been a place of peace and strength, history and future. The museum offers fascinating insights into the 900-year-old history of the monastery and tells about the everyday life of the Benedictine monks. It houses various historical treasures dating back to the 11th century, art works and precious paintings from the monastery fundus.
Further, along the mountain road, the Watles Mountain Fun offers fantastic views of the Sesvenna and Ortler range, the Ötztal Alps and the whole valley of the Upper Venosta. By chairlift, you can reach the mountain station where the Plantapatsch mountain hut is located. Rustic south Tyrolean cuisine invites to a great lunch on the splendid, sunny terrace. Pleasant walks, extensive hikes as well as family fun around the game lake with its special features inspire young and old.
